Choir Trip to Spartanburg, SC

Mike Speck and David trying to get things worked out with the sound guys before our sound check

Below is LeAnn and Terra at Concord Mills
where we stopped for lunch!

The fun bus! With kids.!!! Our bus was more QUITE than the adult bus. The adults forgot about the wonderful world of headsets for IPODS, Game players and the DVDs we had playing the whole ride. I could hear a pin drop.

The adult bus! Had many adults fellowshipping at one time. Can you imagine the noise. At first I thought this kid bus with parents was a bad idea and some sort of punishment. But I wouldn't have it any other way, now.

Both buses lined up at the church ready to go. LeAnn was a little disappointed she didn't get ot ride "the pink bus"
This picture is a little out of order. But this is Mike Specks bus leaving the church as we too left.

Three sisters here. Ready to sing. Left to right...Big sis, punkin and baby sis!!!

Mike Speck, George Baldwin and our choir director (the best) David Dalton, praying before we start!

Mike Speck talking to us before we start.

Travis and Terra she LOVES him. Not sure why. Just Kidding Travis.

Run it's Travis!!!!

Silly girls. LeAnn, Riley and Terra. They traded shoes on the way to dinner. I think Riley is at least 2 years younger. But her shoes still fit!

David sending us off (back home that is!)

Diane and LeAnn. I can not tell you enough how much I appreciate Diane (and ALL the many nurses we have in the choir.) LeAnn was not breathing well at all. She didn't even get to sing the song she'd been practicing for months. Diane really helped me out.

Below Terra feel asleep on the way home!

LeAnn feel asleep too. Look how cute they are when their sleeping!

At the final rest area. I had done roll call on my bus. (Yes David put me in charge of a bus. And Ed Parker in charge of the other....brave soul he is) But our driver was missing so I was goin to take us home!!!!

Mammie in the zone watching a movie.

Yes, lets see how many we can fit in one seat.

Another Premier with Mike Speck! Nothing like Christmas in the summer. Our choir works on Easter music at Christmas time and Christmas music during the summer. Lovely huh!!! It's actually alot of fun. We always feel so honored to be able to present Christ in different avenues.

We went to First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, SC to premier Mike Specks Christmas musical The Name Jesus. This one was neat cause the choir that recorded the musical with the Specks was none other than North Jacksonville Baptist and their music director Tim Rigdon. Tim was actually in the audience. I kept an eye on him when I could. He seemed to also have such the connection with these songs as we had. The words to these songs really went straight to the heart. It was hard to stay depressed and up tight when I would listen to these songs. Much less being there singing those words.

I have heard many musicals and books that Mike Speck has put to together. I must say this one by far is my favorite! It covers the name of Jesus...of course cause that's the title. This musical had many of my favorite songs in it. Something else was that it had Granny's favorite song. "There's Something About that Name".

How true is that! Lion of Judah has always been my favorite name for Christ. Lion, to me could mean so much. A soft shoulder to crawl up to when you have had enough of this world. Yet also a great protector from the enemy we face on a daily bases. A strong hold. I can imagine the arms of the lion wrapped around me while I lay in hiding, or maybe just lying to rest for a little while.

In the words of Mike Speck let me leave you with just a taste of how many names our Lord Jesus carries on His being.

Many times I thought about the name Jesus. Have you ever just sat down in silence and said the name JESUS to yourself OUT LOUD. Try it sometime soon. At the mention of His name so many emotions and thoughts go through my mind. I am forced to sit in awe of Him. Can you imagine standing in His presence? I can't. I just say His name out loud several times and it brings my head to a bow and if I keep goin, it brings my knees to the ground.

What a name!!!!

Jesus Jesus Jesus, there's just something about that name. Master, Savior Jesus, like the fragance after the rain. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus let all heaven and earth proclaim. Kings and kingdoms will all pass away. But there's something about that name!!! I can hear Granny singing that at this moment.

Thank you Father for being everything we could ever need you to be in our lives. What a gift. Just to know you love us, despite our failures. You are more precious than anything we could ever imagine. Thank you for loving us. for setting us free. May we strive to be the men and women of God that You have called us to be. And when we fail. May we be so mindful of Your grace and forgiveness. May we learn to forgive ourselves and move forward in this war against the enemey that we face daily. Till we come home, may we serve You in a way that is honorable. Continue to complete the work You have started in all of us, till completion.

God's Unfinished work,
Candy Justice
